Adjusting Chart View
Overview
In Optuma there are various methods available to adjust the view of the chart that you have displayed by using the History Slider or rolling the mouse wheel to zoom in and out of the chart.
Chart Grabbing
Chart Grabbing allows you to move backwards and forwards through a chart by holding down the left mouse button and dragging it left or right.
History Slider
Adjusting
The History Slider will divide the bar into yearly segments, with a lighter section highlighting the data currently displayed in the chart window. This highlighted section can be used to adjust the bar compression of the chart. To do this, left-click on the highlighted section. Two icons will display on the left and right sides of the highlight box. Left-click and drag on these icons to increase / decrease the chart’s compression.
To move the chart view back and forward through time, left-click and hold on the highlight box and move the cursor in the direction you want the chart to move.
Optuma Tip
Double left-clicking on the History Slider will automatically reset the view back to the latest available data.
Mouse Scroll Wheel
If your mouse has a scroll wheel, then you will be able to use this to adjust the horizontal compression of your chart. First place your mouse pointer over the chart, moving the scroll wheel forward will zoom into the chart, i.e. reduce the number of bars displayed. Moving the scroll wheel backwards will zoom out of the chart, i.e. increase the number of bars that are displayed. Note that the chart will zoom to your cursor.
Adjusting Price Scale
It is also possible to alter the vertical compression of the chart by adjusting the Price Scale. This will increase or decrease the range that the Price Scale covers. To do this just place your mouse pointer over the Price Scale, then move the scroll wheel forward to expand the Price Scale or backwards to compress the Price Scale.
You can also adjust the vertical compression by left-clicking (and holding) on the Price Scale whilst pressing the Shift key on your keyboard. You are then able to drag the Price Scale up or down which will alter the vertical compression of the chart.
To revert the price scale to automatic scaling simply left-click the padlock icon that is displayed at the top of the price scale.
