Changing Time Frames
Overview
When you open a chart in Optuma, the time frame of the chart is displayed on the chart header beside the name and code of the chart (1 Day, for example). This indicates that each bar on the chart represents 1 day of price action. To change the timeframe simply click on the 1 Day label in the header and select another timeframe:
The following preset time frames are available in Optuma:
- 1 Minute *
- 5 Minutes *
- 60 Minutes *
- 1 Day
- 1 Week
- 1 Month
- 1 Year
* Requires real-time data
Left-click on the time frame you wish to view and the chart will update accordingly.

In the security selection window type the ticker the symbol followed by ,w and the chart will open in a weekly timeframe, eg CBA,w. For monthly use CBA,m.
Shortcut Keys and Buttons
Keyboard shortcuts for different time frames (ALT+D for a daily chart, ALT+W for weekly, for example) can be set up under the Settings menu. Additionally, Action buttons for each time frame can be added to the Custom Toolbar.
Creating Custom Time Frames
If you require a time frame other than those preset with the program - such as a quarterly chart - you are able to create it. Click on the time frame label in the chart header and select the Customise option.
In the window that opens, enter the value and duration of the new time frame (either ticks*, minutes*, days, weeks, months, and years) and click the Add button. Note that you can also assign a keyboard shortcut to this and the existing time frames (Alt+D for daily, for example).
Once added, the new timeframe will be available from the drop-down list and available for all charts.
*Requires real-time data
