Creating Workbooks
Overview
This article will show you how to create a workbook in Optuma.
Opening Charts
The act of opening new charts from the Optuma homepage will create the new workbook. To learn how to do this please see our Opening A Chart section.
Using a CSV File
It’s possible to open a workbook from a list of codes saved as a CSV file. This is a great time saver if you want to create a large workbook from a list of codes provided by a 3rd party, such as a list of codes that your broker allows short trades on.
Step 1 - Formatting the CSV File
It is important that the CSV file contain only one column of data. This column should contain the list of codes you want to open only. There should be no column labels or headers of any kind:
Once the CSV has been formatted and saved continue on to Step 2.
Step 2 - Opening the CSV file as a Workbook
- Open Optuma.
- Left-click on the Files menu.
- In the menu displayed, left-click on the Open Workbook option.
- Change the File Type field to CSV File.
- In the window displayed navigate to the folder where the CSV file has been saved.
- Double-click on the CSV file and the workbook will be created.
Saving your Workbook
After you have created your workbook you will then want to save it. For information on how to save your workbook please view the next knowledge base article by clicking here.
