Overview

There are 4 different Optex Trigger signals that can be plotted onto your chart. These triggers identify four key signal opportunities. The different signals are listed and described below:

Optex Trigger 250 (Small Red Arrow)

  • This occurs when the BQ line touches the level 2 blue line on the bottom portion of the study pane.
  • Scripting Function: OPTTRIG250

    Optex Trigger 250 Trend (Large Red Arrow)

  • This occurs when the BQ line touches the level 2 blue line on the bottom portion of the study pane and the tool also has determined that the main trend is up.
  • Scripting Function: OPTTRIG250T

    Optex Trigger 300 (Small Blue Arrow)

  • This occurs when the BQ line is within a specified range tolerance of the level 1 blue line on the bottom portion of the study pane.
  • Scripting Function: OPTTRIG300

    Optex Trigger 300 Trend (Large Blue Arrow)

  • This occurs when the BQ line is within a specified range tolerance of the level 1 blue line on the bottom portion of the study pane and the tool also has determined that the main trend is up.
  • Scripting Function: OPTTRIG300T

MASOPTTRIG
To add the tool to your chart, select the tool from the Optuma Extreme Tools tool group, and left-click on the chart or indicator on which you wish to add the tool. Optuma will then draw the tool using the default settings.

Add to Toolbar: Adds the selected tool to your custom toolbar.

Apply Settings to All: When multiple Optex Triggers tools have been applied to a chart, page or workbook, this action can be used to apply the settings of the one selected to other instances of the tool. This is a great time saver if an adjustment is made to the tool - such as line colour - as this allows all the other Optex Triggers tools in the chart, page or entire workbook to be updated instantly.

Copy Tool: Allows you to copy the selected tool, which can then be pasted onto a different chart window.

Move to Back: If the tool is displaying in front of other tools or indicators clicking this action will move the tool view to the background.

Move to Front: If the tool is displaying behind other tools or indicators on the chart, clicking this action will bring the tool to the forefront.

Restore Default Settings: Click this action if you have adjusted the default settings of the tool, and wish to return to the standard properties originally installed with Optuma.

Save Settings as Default: If you have adjusted any of the tool’s properties (colour, for example) you can save the adjustments as your new default setting. Each time you apply a new Optex Triggers to a chart, the tool will display using the new settings.

Delete: Deletes the tool from the chart.

Tool Name: Allows you to adjust the name of the tool, as it’s displayed in the Structures Panel.

Use Start Date: Selecting this option will allow a nominated start date to be used for the tool.

Start Date: This option is available when Use Start Date is selected. This will display a calendar where the desired start date for the tool can be selected.

Display: Allows you to adjust whether the tool appears on your chart as an Arrow or a Vertical Line.

Size: When displayed as an arrow, use this slider bar to adjust the size of the tool. Moving the slider to the right will increase the size of the tool.
Arrow Type: When displayed as an arrow, the Arrow Type property allows you to adjust whether the Arrows point up or down.

Line Style: When displayed as a line, the Line Style property allows you to adjust the type of line displayed. There are 8 options available: Solid, Dots, Dash, Dash Dots, Long Dash, Long Dash Dot, Long Dash Dot Dot, Stippled.

Line Width: When displayed as a line, the Line Width property allows you to adjust the width of the Vertical line. Moving the slider bar to the right increases the thickness of the line.

Extend Up: When displayed as a line, check this box to extend the tool up.

Extend Down: When displayed as a line, check this box to extend the tool down.

Line Over All Views: When displayed as a line, check this box to ensure the that the line extends over all tools or indicators that are placed on the chart. For example, the lines will run through the volume indicator if this box is checked.
Position: Expands to display the following options:

  • High - Places the arrow just above the bar
  • Low - Places the arrow just below the bar
  • Top - Places the arrow at the top of the window
  • Bottom - Places the arrow at the bottom of the window
  • Floating - Places the arrow in the middle of the screen

Symbol (Line) Colour: Allows you to edit the colour of the tool. (Symbol Colour is for Arrow display, Line Colour is for Line display).

Tool Transparency: Use this slider bar to adjust the transparency of the tool. Moving the slider to the left will increase the transparency of the tool.

Visible: Un-tick this checkbox to hide the tool from the chart.
