Alert Manager - Old
Overview
The Alerts Manager allows the user to manage previously created alerts, it is also possible to create new Price or Technical alerts directly from the Alerts Manager.
The Alerts Manager is accessed from the Alerts menu.

Setting a Price Alert
In Optuma, a Price Alert will alert you when High/Low/Open/Close either Crosses Above, Crosses Below, is Equal or Above, or is Equal or Below a certain price.
To set a Price Alert from within the Alerts Manager left-click the Add button and then select Price Alert.
After selecting the Price Alert option, you will need to complete the following process:
- Enter the required code or name.
- Select whether the Open, High, Low or Close price is to be used for the trigger.
- Select the criteria: Crosses Above, Crosses Below, Equal or Above, Equal or Below.
- Enter the price level.
- Ensure the Active box is ticked.
Setting a Time Alert
In Optuma, a Time Alert will allow you to set a reminder to check a certain stock at a later date.
To set a time Alert from within the Alerts Manager, left-click the Add button and then select Time Alert.
After selecting the Time Alert option, you will need to complete the following process:
- Enter the required code or name.
- Left-click on the gear icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the tile.
- Enter the desired Alert Name.
- Enter the reason for the alert in the Alert Reminder section.
- Next to where it says “Time Alert,” near the bottom of the tile, click on the icon that looks like a calendar next to where the date and time is listed.
- From here, enter the date and time you wish the Time Alert to be set to.
- Enter an alert sound, if you want.
Setting a Technical Alert
In Optuma, a Technical Alert will allow you to create a script and the Technical Alert will alert you when the condition of your script is met.
To set a Technical Alert from within the Alerts Manager, left-click the Add button and then select Technical Alert.
After selecting the Technical Alert option, you will need to complete the following process:
- Enter the required code or name.
- Click the middle of the tile to name the alert and enter the criteria.
- The list of criteria will open, including any custom criteria previously created in other modules, such as the Scanning Manager or Back Test. Please view the Formula Functions & General Interface knowledge base article for more information.
- Note that as many criteria as required can be added, with an And/Or operator (click to select).
- >Adjust the formulas, time frame, expiry date and notification sounds as required before saving.
Managing an Alert
To edit an alert, click on any of the criteria to change, such as the price. To change the settings click the gear icon in the lower-right corner of the box.
This will expand the box and allow the alert to be named as well as allowing you to write a quick notation about the alert. Also, an expiration time and date can be set, along with the sound to be generated when the alert is triggered.
Acknowledging a Triggered Alert
When the desired price level has been met a notice will appear on the screen along with a sound (if selected). Additionally, the Alerts icon will display a notification which you will be asked to acknowledge.
Open As…
The Open As button allows you to open up either just your triggered alerts or all of your alerts.
There are several ways you can open these charts up as shown in the image below:
Both Open Triggered Alerts As and Open All Alerts As have the same options.
