Properties
Title: This property can be used to give the Watchlist a title.
Layout: Allows you to create or select a previously created Watchlist Layout. For more information, click here.
Timeframe: By default, a Watchlist will display values for a daily time frame. All scripts, all columns will use daily data when calculating their values (unless the script is using a time frame override). However, you can adjust the time frame for all rows in a Watchlist via the Time Frame property. For more information, click here.
Date Range: This setting allows you to choose how much historical data is used for the Watchlist. By default, the date range is set to Last Year. However, you can also choose one of the following options.
- Everything
- Today
- Yesterday
- Last Week
- Last Fortnight
- Last Month
- Last Quarter (3 Months)
- Last Year
- Last 5 Years
- Last 10 Years
- Date Range
- Selected Date
By default, watchlists will show the values of the latest data available. However, if you wish to see the values as of a certain date (such as the end of the previous week or month) use the Date Range option and select the required Date to Load To from the calendar. The date will appear in the watchlist header, and the column values will then be calculated as of that date:
Force Date Range: When a script is used that requires more data than loaded in the Date Range then this option will force the data to be loaded.
Dynamic Sort: When the Watchlist is using real-time data, you can enable the Dynamic sort option, to ensure any changes that effect the order of the rows are updated automatically. For example, if you have your rows ordered by Net Change %, if the 2nd rows value becomes larger than the 1st rows value, the 2nd row will move into the 1st position.
Highlight Changes: When this option is enabled and the Watchlist is using real-time data, any changes to a field will be highlighted.
Automatically Set Font Size: When enabled the font size will be automatically set to the largest size that can be accommodated by the current column/row configuration.
Font Size: When Automatically Set Font Size is disabled you can adjust this slider bar to change the size of the text font displayed on the Watchlist. Moving the slider to the right will increase the font size, moving the slider to the left will decrease the font size.
Linked to List: When selected the Watchlist can be linked to either a symbol list a scan results.
List to Use: When Linked to List is active, this property allows you to select which list you want to use. Lets you choose from any csv files or scans that you have used as well as allowing you to import a new symbol list.
Master Currency: This property gives you the ability to adjust the price values displayed in the Watchlist columns to a different currency.
Show Members: If linked to an Optuma Symbol List that has historical membership (eg ASX 200, S&P 500) then this optional allows you to show all the members.
Group By: Professional and Enterprise Services clients have the ability to automatically group the Watchlist rows based on the user selected field, e.g. Direction. Please note that some items will require a Bloomberg connection, e.g. GICS.
Wrap Columns: If the number of rows exceeds the vertical screen space this option allows the extra data to appear to the right of the list, rather than below (where space allows).
Multi-Column Sorting: When enabled the Watchlist can be sorted by the values in a selected column. For example, you may want to sort the Watchlist rows by Change % and if the 5 Day SMA > 20 Day EMA.
In the above image, the Multi-Column sorting has been selected from the Properties menu. However, it is also possible to hold the Ctrl key down and then left-click on the Column headings that you want to sort the columns by.
Sort By: This option appears when “Multi-Column Sorting” is enabled to allow selection of the column to be used to sort the Watchlist on.
Show Summary Row: Adds a row at the top of the Watchlist (or groups if in use) where a summary value can display. Summary values can be set to Sum, Average, Count or Median.
